Day 10- 30 days to a Grateful Life

“The miracle of gratitude is such that, it
shifts your perception to such an extent that it changes the world you see.” –
Dr Robert Holden
When
everything around us is perfect, everyone can be normal, but the one who is
persistent and patient amidst total chaos and confusion will emerge as a
winner. How can we do that, how can we focus on the positives, when everything
seems to have turned upside down? The answer to this question is “gratitude”. It
is the only force that can help you find a way.
Trust me, for the last one
week, things have not changed much, but I am getting answers to many of my
questions and I am sure that with the continuous focus on the things I have, I will
bring in more essence to my life.
One of my
schoolteachers said that, if we wanted to improve our English speaking, we needed
to read out a paragraph aloud everyday in front of the mirror. It sounded quite
absurd, but when I started to do that, I improved a lot and even won three
elocution competitions.
We all have
certain hidden talents; it just needs a recognition and continuous practice. We
all are born unique, but in the rat race, we lose our uniqueness and settle for
the ordinary. Let us today on the tenth day, be grateful for what we are and
for all the skills that we possess.
  1. I am truly
grateful to my loud voice. People do criticize me for this, they make fun of
me, and they even say I am a born loudspeaker. Earlier these things mattered a
lot to me, but now they don’t. The same loud voice of mine helps me in my
presentations and helps me host functions. At times it also helps me in
catching a rickshaw. You see multiple uses, so I need to be thankful.
  2. I am truly
grateful to my big eyes, I’ve always loved them…and especially when I apply
little kajal and eyeliner, I get so many compliments. *blush…blush*
  3. I am truly
grateful to my smile, my daughter says, I look very pretty when I smile and
that’s the most honest compliment I guess. I seriously believe that a smile can
    make anyone’s day.
  4. I am truly
grateful for my height, I have seen people struggle in trains and buses to
catch hold of the iron bars.
  5. I am truly
grateful that I can handle all my roles efficiently.
  6. I am truly
grateful to have the ability to make handmade-quilled cards. These days I don’t
get enough time, but I am sure I will get back to quilling soon.
  7. I am truly
grateful to have the ability to give presentations and train others. I love
teaching also, and I guess that makes me a good trainer as well.
  8. I am truly
grateful to be a good cook. The best compliments come from my daughter, and it
gives me immense satisfaction to see her finish the food quickly.
  9. I am truly
grateful to be a good dancer. I never learnt dance, but simply love dancing and
I’ve also choreographed many songs for school students.
 Thank you…!

I am truly
grateful to be what I am and I believe in my skills.
Don’t wait
for others to motivate you, just remember that you are special, and believe in
yourself. Time we acknowledged our talents
If
you wish to participate all you need to do is follow these rules:
  • For next thirty days write about the things you
are grateful for (it maybe in your blog or in your personal journal, not
necessary that you write ten things.)
  • Do post your link in the comment box, if you
have a blog and have started this therapy.
  • You can even post pictures, in case you are
    unable to write.
Keep
Smiling and be Grateful,
Gayatri
PS: Have a grateful weekend!!!
