On Some Days

On
some days,
There
is so much to do…
The
laundry demands to be dried,
The
dishes yell to be washed,
The
room begs to be swept,
I
shut everything off,
I
quietly slid into my sanctuary,
And
wonder…
How
much life has changed?

My farewell day in my prevoius office.

I
pick up my mobile,
Surf
through those old pictures,
Read
those Whatsapp chats,
Reread
those little notes and letters,
And…
a smile erupts unconsciously,
I
close my eyes….
And
bask in those wonderful memories….
A teardrop
kisses my cheeks,

The Diwali fun with my girlfriends <3

I
cry,
I
laugh,
I
scream,
I
write,
A
few moments later,
The
tsunami of my emotions, subside.

The Nautanki group<3

My
phone beeps,
And
it’s your message,
I
smile,
This
time knowing that, nothing has changed
With
a heart full of gratitude,
I
get back to my chores!

PS: This is an impromptu post, written purely with overflowing emotions. I am missing my office friends, especially my girlfriends so much that, I had to vent it out here.

Be positive,

Be grateful,

Keep Smiling,

Love,

Gayu

  1. I think that was one of the hardest things to adjust to when I made the decision to quit my job and stay home with my children and be a full time mom- getting used to not seeing my friends at work. As it happens, life moved on and since they didn't see me daily…we all drifted apart. Lovely post!

    1. Thanks so much Kathy for your lovely comment. Yes, it indeed was a very challenging decision and I do miss all the fun, but being at home is an altogether feeling 🙂 And I am loving it!

    1. Yes, technology is a boon for this one, if only we use it wisely 🙂 I am in touch with them too, but at times, I miss the office environment. Thanks for sharing your feelings through your comment!

  2. Gayu,

Visiting after a long long time. Read current 2 posts. Previous one shows how advantage is taken of a girl in true love. One must cherish fond memories but keep present in mind to do what needs to be done. Well written.

    Take care
