Life is what you make it- A novel by Preeti Shenoy

Preeti Shenoy is full time mother of two kids, author, artist, blogger…and above all a wonderful human being.  I don’t know her personally, but I am great fan of her writing (Visit her blog: ).
Her first book 34 Bubblegums and Candies ( was a National Best Seller. I ordered her new book from
The book revolves around the life of Ankita, a teenager who lives a life of her dream. The initial chapters in the book will surely take you down the memory lanes…to your college fest, friends around, parental pressures, your first crush, bike rides, mushy love songs…the list is endless. Preeti’s simple writing reaches out to the audience who are not book lovers. After the initial 5 chapters, the real story begins….and I bet that you can’t keep the book down. Each and every situation makes you think…makes you feel more for Ankita …makes you bite your nails and wonder what is going to happen ahead. I finished the book in one sitting.
Each and every character in the book will remind you of someone…for that matter even I could see a glimpse of Ankita in me.
A truly inspirational journey of extremely lucky and successful Ankita who falls into the trap of depression. How she fights back the trauma and how she makes her own destiny…is what the later part of the story about. A story of faith, love and hope!!!!!!
Preeti has conveyed a strong message that mental health is most important…because what you are inside, you show outside.
A wonderful read to rejuvenate your mind and soul. The book made me retrospect my own life…what are my thoughts, where I can make changes, where I can stretch more and patiently wait for the best.
I am not going to go further into the story…as it will kill the suspense. Guys please go ahead and get this book, you won’t be disappointed.
I am not someone who can rate anybody…but I would give this book 10/10.
I strongly believe that this book will also be a National Best Seller
All the best Preeti.
God Bless!!!!!!!!

  1. This was due for a long while. Just saw your tweet which redirected here and after reading your blog, finally I'm posting some thoughts about 'The One You Cannot Have'.
I finished this book and had to let myself sit and think about it before writing this review, mainly because it stirred up so many emotions in me that I had to wait for them to settle before I could approach this. From the first page, the story draws you in and locks your mind on the feeling that everything is driven by a great sentiment. From an enjoyment standpoint, this book creates everything you could desire for entertainment, intense thoughts and all around literary excitement. If you wonder what it might be like to live in such a relationship that started so promising and needs so much work this book is for you. Insightful, thought provoking and powerful this is a must read. A huge part of my enjoyment of this novel was not being able to tell whether this couple were going to stay together or not. The author kept me guessing right up to the end. Indeed worth reading. Thank you so much. Waiting for the next one. All the best.
